With some decent weather at last, a dedicated team of people have been busy removing, carting, dumping, spreading, grading, rolling and watering a new track surface into existence at Stratford Speedway over the past couple of weeks. Thanks to Graham Harris Contracting, Uhlenberg Haulage, Collingwood Traffic Management, R & S Dreaver along with all the helpers including Mike Uhlenberg, Lynn Booker, John Booker, Karl Uhlenberg, Blair Uhlenberg, Chris Uhlenberg, Joe Ingram, Tony Uhlenberg and Tom Bollond to name a few for their help in bringing this project to fruition. Incidentally, this is Tom's 46th year helping the club. This has been a big project but the new surface of virgin papa, carted from Mangamingi, will have no contaminants contained within it and will likely provide a grippier and therefore faster and less dusty race surface, making speedway even better than it already was in Taranaki.
