Adult MinistocksMinistocks were first introduced at Wanganui in the mid-nineties it was not very long at all before the class was also introduced at Stratford. Since then numbers have risen greatly and most nights it is not uncommon to see over twenty of the little cars line up. Although the cars look similar to Stockcars, contact is prohibited but with the sheer weight of numbers, it is not uncommon to see contact in the class. The lightweight cars are powered by a donor car's engine no larger than 1200cc and along with standard running gear from that vehicle they can be as cheap as $3000 dollars to build and serve as a great feeder class with many competitors moving on to the faster classes after a few years racing.
